Concerning the fact that maps should be downloadable -> yes yes, 3 times yes. In fact, this is probably how the "community" site I was talking about on the list will really exist. Simply a network of LW6 nodes exchanging maps.

How does we want our future network-oriented LW6 to function? The important features are of course to be able to host / log into a game, and also some security. I think it would be good if there was lots of focus on the social aspects - Chat features everywhere and perhaps some player profiles, or a link to whatever social network the player hangs out at. The network could show the players computer name and country automatically.

It would also be cool if it was possible to just host some new levels, and the other players simply downloaded them on the fly. Or hack the level xml's when hosting a game. Network could also be used to give the player messages about game updates or other news.

Network code is there. So far low-level TCP/IP wrappers are set up, and framework too.
