Thanks for the suggestion Giulia! I just moved it to the "Tasks" list because this is not a "bug", but a feature request ;-).

We have indeed thought about adding this feature for a long time, the main problem is that a day is only 24 hours (for one person). We need help to deliver all these nice features sooner.

The radial profile script is a simple shell script (you can see its source). As you see, it is also heavily commented, so everything should be clear and it shouldn't be too hard for you to implement it yourself and share the updated script so everyone can benefit from your nice work ;-).

What do you think?

[field #13]                  Summary: Request for Improvement: Logarithmic Spacing for Radial Profiles

[field #14]      Original Submission: I am writing to inquire about the possibility of incorporating a new feature into the astscript-radial-profile script concerning the computation of radial profiles.

Currently, the script utilizes linear spacing for radial steps. However, I believe that implementing logarithmic spacing could  enhance our computations, particularly in scenarios where data exhibit a wide dynamic range.

By incorporating logarithmic steps, we can ensure improved resolution in the outer regions of galaxies and effectively smooth out internal structures, thus enabling efficient handling of data across various scales.

I kindly request your consideration of this improvement to further optimize our workflow and the overall performance of the script.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am available to discuss this in more detail at your earliest convenience.
