The GNU Telecom Subsystem - Summary
This project is part of the GNU Project.
The GNU Telecom subsystem consists of an optional call server for VOIP networks, GNU SIP Witch for SIP, GNU Gatekeeper for H.323; a multi-protocol telephone application/media server, GNU Bayonne; and an optional multi-protocol gateway server to be defined.

SIP Witch is an official package of the GNU Project as of August 10th 2007. GNU SIP Witch is also part of GNU Telephony & the GNU Telecom subsystem.

Well,
After about a year of discussion, procrastination, and a some actual work, the GNUComm design overview is up on the website. Check it out at www.gnu.org/software/gnucomm/gnucomm.html
We are at v0.0.1, so there is a lot of speculative, naive, and otherwise unsafe assumptions that need to be weeded out, but I think the overall idea is pretty cool.
