a new tcp/ip stack translator was set up, that just uses lwip as a library.
It probably needs polishing before we can use it as our main stack, however.

The current pfinet implementation is taken from old Linux code, making it work for our purposes by using glue code.

It is worthwhile to rewrite pfinet to get rid of the deficiencies in the old code.  If this is done by again using code from another kernel or operating system combined with a glue code or by using one of the already implemented user space stacks or by writing a purely native implementation has to be determined.
