Sun 24 May 2020 11:57:27 PM UTC, comment #11: Indeed, formally, I have tried to justify the priorities for myself like this: first analytical-reproducibility, second visualization-reproducibility (LaTeX is a visualization tool after-all ;-)).

Sun 24 May 2020 10:40:52 PM UTC, comment #9: Thanks for mentioning this Boud. The problem is that we don't yet install *any* TeX package from source.

Sun 24 May 2020 10:13:36 PM UTC, comment #8: I'm trying to understand Raul's comment here: https://gitlab.com/makhlaghi/maneage-paper/-/issues/9 , which seems to be explained by TeX live doing some sort of overall system update every April.

Mon 14 Oct 2019 12:36:36 PM UTC, comment #6: I was testing the work done up to this point in my macOS laptop in order to check if everything was fine. While doing this, I found a couple of problems that I was able to fix. You can have a look at the last commit I did in my fork: https://gitlab.com/infantesainz/reproduce-raulfork/commit/e39103c4

Sun 13 Oct 2019 01:55:12 PM UTC, comment #5: Sorry, my previous comment may be confusing: I merged the `master' branch into the `texlive-from-src' branch (which is only in my Gitlab fork).

Sun 13 Oct 2019 01:46:28 PM UTC, comment #4: I merged the `texlive-from-src' branch with master to modernize it with the recent overall changes, then done re-build of TeXLive, but set it to install in an empty `textest' directory to see what get installed, you can see the result below.

Mon 15 Jul 2019 12:40:35 AM UTC, comment #3: I have started this in my fork's texlive-from-src branch. It now installs a very basic TeX installation (only containing TeX, not even LaTeX!). See the commit message for more.

Sun 05 May 2019 08:33:55 PM UTC, comment #1: Since its the only robust solution to this problem, this task is now generalized to building TeXLive from source. |

In April 29th, TeXLive 2018 was removed from the TeXLive webpage and TeXLive 2019 was replaced. So if you try to `./configure' an already built project it will crash.

The completion of task #15481 (Xorg libraries for Ghostscript), was a big step towards completing this task.
The Ghostscript library and the core Xorg libraries are necessary to build TeXLive (as suggested by Linux From Scratch).
