I can confirm that 3.0.18 fixed this issue for me (Arch Linux).  Thank you.

GnuTLS 3.0.18 should solve this issue.

Thanks a lot for the info. Looks like this annoying will be "dead" soon ;)

Hello it seems a fix reverted the behavior of sending GNUTLS_E_PREMATURE_TERMINATION to sending GNUTLS_E_UNEXPECTED_PACKET_LENGTH. I'll correct it on the next release and add a test case to prevent this from happening.

I made a wireshark dump under virtualbox. Will post a new one with my real computer, upgraded to gnome 3.4.

For info, on my real computer :

Name                  : glib-networking
Version               : 2.31.22-1

[fred@fredo-arch ~]$ pacman -Qi glib-networking
Name                  : glib-networking
Version               : 2.30.2-1

Well, glib-networking was last updated in january 2012, gnutls in march 2012.

What to do now ?

What version of glib-networking do you have installed? If it's 2.28 (or rather, less than 2.29.92), then you need to upgrade that. (2.28 was never tested against gnutls 3.0, and so doesn't know about the GNUTLS_E_PREMATURE_TERMINATION error code.)

If your network interface is eth0, do "wireshark -i eth0", and Click on start capture. You then start the program in question and try to connect to the server. After it fails you stop the capture, save the file and send it to me.

No problem. Just tell me how to make this capture and I will to do asap. I'm not a big friend of wireshark :(

Hello,
the warning you get is unrelated with gnutls. Could you please make a capture with wireshark of the transaction and send it to me? (nmav@gnutls.org)

Hello.

On my Archlinux, I saw that since GnuTLS was upgraded to version 3.0.17, Evolution is not able to synchronise with my google calendar account.

Here is the error message I get :

"Unable to open the calendar: The HTTP status code returned (6) is unexpected
(Error reading data connector TLS: A TLS packet with incorrect length was
received.)"

And in terminal, I got this error :

"(evolution: 1774): e-data-server-ui-WARNING **: The keyring is unusable: no
host name or user"

For the first error message, I think a change in GnuTLS broke evolution synchronisation.
