Hello everyone,
Mostly it works, however in some instances, especially when TeXmacs is slightly slowed down because of a large paper, pressing $ $ rapidly makes TeXmacs freeze forever. The only way out of it is to kill Texmacs using the task manager. I cannot reproduce it reliably and usually this happens after working for at least 30 min on a document. I tried reopening the same document after the crash and going to the exact same place and trying to press $ $ rapidly but the freeze mostly does not happen again. However, the freezing happens often enough that it is annoying: around once per 30-45 minutes (however, sometimes less often e.g. 1/day) when working on a paper (approx 50 pages). Seeing that after the crash I usually lose the last sentences written and texmacs doesn't save the position in the file, this puts a strain on productivity.
This happens on Windows. I am not sure it happens on other OS's. I believe this to be a race condition of sorts because it happens much more frequently when I work on older computers or when I use my newer computer, but I am on battery power. The keyboard shortcut makes it easy to issue the commands quickly, so that is why it is apparent.
I am attaching a video of what happens. I cannot attach the core dump since it is 319MB |

Apparently, attaching videos does not work either even if they are below the limit of 16384 kB
