I meant the previous links were wrong:
https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/private/emacs-pretest-bug/

It should be:
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-pretest-bug/

And it said that "You can (un)subscribe to the list[...]".  Now the text is needless, apparently.

I can't see this list in emacs group now (but I could see it 14 hours ago), maybe someone (you?) has deleted it.  I think this solution is OK to me.

everything about this is confusing to me.  apparently the list has not been used in six years.  apparently someone previously deleted it.  yes, it is true that the archives are still there.  that is normal and desirable.

so what do you want to happen?  it makes no sense to recreate the list, or make up some kind of fake mailman page for it, when it is not used any more.  yes, there may be links somewhere (you don't say where, but i don't doubt you) that point to various pages when the list existed, but that's just how things go.

what am i missing?

p.s. as for the lists being maintained "automatically", it is possible that the list was deleted by an emacs project admin back in 2007 via savannah's "mailing lists -> configure".  that would lead to this situation.  and that is perfectly fine, as far as i can see.

In emacs group, there is a mailing lists list, emacs-pretest-bug is in it.

When I follow the archives page or the list info page, the mailman says "No such list emacs-pretest-bug".

My solution:
(1) The archive link should be:
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-pretest-bug/

(2) Change the "You can (un)subscribe to the list by [...]" to "this list has been merged with emacs-devel since 2007-08".

The project admin Stefan Monnier suggested my filing a support request here to fix the problem.
