When using GCC with Link Time Optimization (-flto added to CFLAGS and LDFLAGS), libtool fails when detecting global_symbol_pipe, because gcc does not allow function symbols to be redeclared as variables.
The fix is to set lt_cv_sys_global_symbol_to_cdecl so that function symbols (type T) are declared as functions instead of variables (similar to what is already done on ia64)
