Rot[t]log - Summary
This software is part of the GNU Project.
GNU Rot[t]log is a program that archives and compresses system logs. It was originally authored in 2000 by Stefano Falsetto on Slackware, and was later added in 2002 to Savannah to become a GNU Project.
Old releases of Rot[t]log are in the download area, old directory.
(2022 Update): There already exists a powerful GPLv2 utility that performs these tasks, and is in widespread use (logrotate). While we may not need another logrotator, it might be interesting to re-vivify the spirit of Rot[t]log for the 2020s.
Therefore we are undertaking an effort to rewrite Rot[t]log in a way that streamlines the featureset while adding new functionality that address the challenges the modern computing environment.
