GNU/EDMA 0.19.1 has been released as an Alpha Version. This version tries to fix the long standing issue with 64bits platforms.
In order to fix that problem this version adds a dependency on `libffi`.
This is an alpha release and it is still under test and can be downloaded from:

Any feedback or comment is welcomed

A new minor release of GNU/EDMA has been committed to CVS. This release fixes some bugs from previous version and includes some minor improvements. Check the ChangeLog for details.
This is basically a license fix release and documentation update. The previous package didn't include the COPYING.LESSER file (needed for LGPLv3 packages) and a couple of files didn't provide the proper headers.
Hope everything is OK now, but it will be great to get some feedback on this topic.
GNU/EDMA 0.18.0 and its graphical related tools are available for download from the GNU FTP site (http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/edma/).
The main changes in this version can be found in the NEWS and Changelog files included in the packages.
This version has been compiled but not yet fully tested on darwin systems and on BeagleBoard (ARM platform). Most of the development and testing has been done on standard i386 PCs.
Suggestions, comments and testers are welcomed.
We have just committed version 0.18.0 intended to be the next stable release of GNU/EDMA. This version fixes some issues with local repositories and run-time class installation.
Now we need to spend some time with the small details: dates in file headers, remove of commented out code, etc... The plan is to get this done during this week and get a final package by the end of the week.

New CVS update. These are the main changes:
- Inclusion of a daemon to manage GNU/EDMA shared memory
- Graphical Tools now uses configure.ac (finally)
- The EXCEPTION class now is built-in
- Moved several classes to a new local repository (edma examples)
- Minor bug fixes
We´re still adding a couple of minor changes to the register/unregister tools to complete a stable release... hopefully this weekend will be available.

New minor release that fixes some bugs related to class versions and repositories. It also includes more example code reviewed and commented.
There is a quick hack in some system classes in order to properly fix the run-time update system. We do not think this feature will be stable in the next release but we want to have it there as an interesting future work.

We are preparing the release of a GNU/EDMA Stable version. Basically we need to remove some parts that are no longer used and reorganize examples and tests.
This CVS update to version 0.17.0 can be considered quite stable and we do not expect to make any change in the GNU/EDMA core, as said above.
The graphical tools GECB (GNU/EDMA Class Browser) and GIDFWizard (GNU/EDMA IDF Wizard) has also been updated. The GNOME dependencies has been removed and now only GTK is need for using them, and GECB can now show local repository data if the edma_repos.lst file is present.
We will be keep working and hopefully very soon a Stable release will be available

Recently I've got access to a couple of ARM-based platforms and try to compile GNU/EDMA on them. After installing the required development tool, the latest version of GNU/EDMA was successfully built for the OpenMoko FreeRunner (ARMv4) and the BeagleBoard (ARM Cortex-A8).
The hello world test example was successfully executed :). Further testing is still required.

CVS has been update with version GNU/EDMA 0.16.3. This version includes several internal improvements and a license change to the GNU Lesser General Public License version 3.

Greetings,
As many other GNU systems we are planing to update EDMA license to the new LGPLv3. Since LGPLv3 is not compatible with GPLv2-only applications and as EDMA is mainly a library, this update cannot allow this kind of programs keep using EDMA.
Before updating EDMA license we will like to know if any user of the system is using EDMA with GPLv2-only application, because after changing EDMA licence they won't be able to use EDMA anymore.
Any application using GPLv2-or-later license is ok.
Please, let us know if anyone is in this situation so we can deal with it.
Best Regards.
GNU/EDMA updated to version 0.15.7-12, fixing compilation problems with gcc-4.0 and va_list issues with 64bits architecture.
Some minor bug fixes were also fixed.
