GNUtrition 0.32 is now available.
GNUtrition is a diet and nutrition program for the GNU Operating System. The US Department of Agriculture Nutrient Database of Standard Reference is used as the source of food nutrient information.
New in version 0.32:
- GNUtrition will periodically check gnu.org and notify you when a new version is available.
- The USDA data has been updated from the ancient SR13 to the latest version, SR24.
- The minimum Python version has been increased to version 2.6. GNUtrition is not compatible with Python 3 at this time.
- GNUtrition now uses the built-in SQLite3 Python module and the database has been converted to SQLite. Your existing database will be converted automatically. Once that's complete you no longer need to run a MySQL server for GNUtrition, eliminating a dependency. The new database is stored in ~/.gnutrition.
The homepage is at http://www.gnu.org/software/gnutrition/.
GNUtrition can be found on the main GNU FTP server:
http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gnutrition/ (via HTTP) and
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gnutrition/ (via FTP). It can also be found on the GNU mirrors; please use a mirror if possible.
The FTP mirror list is available at http://www.gnu.org/order/ftp.html, and http://ftpmirror.gnu.org/gnutrition/ will automatically redirect to a nearby mirror.
Please report any problems you may experience to the GNUtrition mailing lists: http://savannah.gnu.org/mail/?group=gnutrition.
