This page lists requests to recover Savannah accounts, with relevant links and summaries, in reverse chronological order since May, 2020.

  • 2024-03-26 savannah-help-private 87sf0d67p0.fsf@yahoo.com: It was pointed out that raghunandan297 has 'real name' saying the account was compromized. The password was reset, and the email was changed from @gmail to @example.net, with notifying the admin of the only Savannah group the account was member of (gnucap). The admin silently removed the account from that group within a day. On 2024-04-01, the 'real name' was changed to say the account was disabled.

  • 2024-01-05 savannah-help-public e1c4c469-7770-483b-8e01-6a155007944a@gmail.com The OP requests re-using user_name from account #74148 deleted before 2017 when user_names weren't cleared on deletion. An admin of Savannah removes the account using the new procedure (the [Delete] button). The account with name is re-registered within a few hours.

  • 2022-06-02 https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/savannah-users/2022-06/msg00000.html No real proof of identity, the account had no keys registered, but it was in no group, its contributions in trackers were quite few, the old email bounced. Updated email.
  • 2022-05-27 https://savannah.nongnu.org/support/index.php?110667 Used ssh key to verify identity.
  • 2021-06-05 savannah-hackers-private 8735twl3e4.fsf_-_@gnu.org A user requested deleting two accounts of someone else; without confirmation of account owners, the request is cancelled (as of 2021-06-24).
  • 2021-03-21 savannah-hackers-private <CAOO8fwm5PWOHW=PjgyU7kack1c7fgc6wO2zGfnvHegtXmjtE7w@mail.gmail.com> The maintainer of GNU gengen requested adding the new account to the gengen group instead of the lost one; the registered email of the new account was listed in maintainers.bypkg, so the request was accepted.
  • 2021-03-01 https://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/savannah-hackers/2021-03/msg00002.html As of 2021-03-22, no proof of identity found; decline so far.
  • 2021-02-14 https://savannah.nongnu.org/support/?110400 Verify with GPG key.

  • 2020-11-21 https://savannah.nongnu.org/support/?110381 Update account email from an UID in GPG key.
  • 2020-10-26 https://savannah.nongnu.org/support/?110313 Update based on external research that still leaves a possibility of identity theft.
