This is most probably a duplicate of earlier bug reports. The issue is fixed in the current sources but not yet in any released version.

See for instance comment #1 from https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/index.php?60849 for a way to clear the issue and how to avoid repeating it.

the program crashes when I go to Options. I don't even get to the options window. Click on Settings > Options ... crash. I uninstalled and then reinstalled and it worked for a while then started again.
