This is most probably a duplicate of earlier bug reports. The issue is fixed in the current sources but not yet in any released version.

See comment #1 from https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/index.php?60849 for a way to clear the issue and how to avoid repeating it.

If it is important to correct the problem in your version of Ubuntu you could open a bug report with them and refer them to https://cvs.savannah.gnu.org/viewvc/gnubg/gnubg/gtkoptions.c?r1=1.130&r2=1.131 This is the fix needed.

On Ubuntu 20.04.4, opening gnubg and clicking on the options menu immediately causes the program to crash. In the CLI it says '(No game) Floating point exception (core dumped)'. Ubuntu gives a notice about a SIGFPE in raise() error when opening it graphically.
