The --help output of uemacs [1] says: "+ start at the end of file". That seems like a useful shorthand (a + sounding like: I want to add stuff to this file, at the end of course). Also, trying this lone + with a few other editors, it results that at least 'vim' and 'ne' know this shorthand too. So...
