When you send email there, please be sure to make your email self-contained: do /not/ require people to click on any URL in order to understand what you are proposing, what your proposed change would enable external tools to do, and why this is worth the trouble modifying nano for. |

I was thinking on improving the way nano run external tools. I particularly like how gedit runs them, specially environment variables that are used to pass information from the editor to the external tools.

I've not seen any concrete example of what would need to be added and what this would allow the user to do.
