Fixed in git, by commit 7d483987.

And closing, as it is a subitem of bug #40060.

(The request is from Sébastien Desreux in https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/nano-devel/2020-01/msg00000.html.  A far earlier request for the same thing was from Hans Ecke in https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/nano-devel/2007-04/msg00017.html.)

When autoindent is ON and several lines of text with some leading whitespace get pasted into nano (with the mouse or with Shift+Insert or Shift+Ctrl+V), then the lines get additional and unwanted leading whitespace added: more and more whitespace for each successive line.

It would be nice if autoindent were temporarily switched off or ignored when text is being pasted into nano from the desktop environment.  This is a subrequest of bug #40060.

Or rather: now I see that bug #40060 only talks about switching off auto-indent and word-wrap and maybe tabs-to-spaces; it doesn't say anything about being able to undo the whole paste with a single M-U.  This latter request was made in bug #54950, which really ought to have stayed a separate request.
