Just FTR, as OP I can confirm that this works now.

As a side comment, it works in 4.2.2, but doesn't in 4.4.0

Right, so it's the same in Windows as in Linux. Ctrl-C won't work, RMB->"Copy" does work.

Adapting subject line 7 and OS.

I'm unsure if this is a bug (not a showstopper then) or a feature request. Ctrl-C is set globally so IMO it should work in the docs pane as well.

That is, it does works with selecting right click, "copy".

But while that works indeed in Mageia-6, Ctrl-C doesn't.
Ctrl-C works about everywhere else for copying selected text to the clipboard.

I'll try again in Windows and if it's the same there I'll adapt the subject line & OS.

While text in the Documentation pane can be selected, it in't possible to copy it fro the pane.
This functionality would be very handy e.g., for trying out examples in the documentation.

A workaround, if internet is available, is to copy / paste from the browser but IMHO that somehow defeats the purpose of having documentation built-in in the GUI in the first place.
