as per today's octave developer meeting, closing octave forge website tickets as 'won't fix'. a deprecation warning now at least appears on the main website pages, although they don't appear on the individual function pages.

I have tried to update the Octave core documentation, but can't run all demos in Octave 4.4.0 without producing random memory access errors along the process.

Maybe I should recompile Octave in a fresh VM ...

This doc string comes from Octave 4.2.0 or 4.2.1. It has already been fixed in Octave 4.2.2 (see bug #50524) and later versions of Octave.

The Octave Forge web site function reference should be updated to use doc strings from Octave 4.4. Updating summary and adding cc to Octave Forge admin.
