This was fixed by the commit for bug #55967

When running MacOSX terminal with default 'Homebrew' settings (black background), listing a bash script with function definitions, the function name is rendered in the same color as the background and is therefore unreadable.

I'll see if I can work out and submit a fix.

Screenshot attached with one function name highlighted so that it stands out.
