Xlib:  extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
libva: va_getDriverName() returns 0
Segmentation fault

Hey, it's no problem. I'd be happy to help you out to test things if you have time for it.

Okay, here is the info: I'm running gentoo, intel duo core2, ati mobile hd3650 on a toshiba laptop. SW versions: libva-0.31.1_p4 and xvba-video 0.7.3.

One reminder here. xvba-video backend is not in official gentoo atm, so I compiled it from an external overlay. I hope that libva would pick it up without any configure options at the compile time?

If you know any way to test if libva is working properly with xvba, let me know so that I can be sure that the libva side is not messed up...

It probably does matter that you are using xvba-video, as I don't have any hardware with an ATI card, so had to leave that untested. The Vaapi support is experimental, which is why it's not enabled by default. Nvidia has been working for others, but you are the first xvba tester, sorry.

It would also help to know which distribution you are using, processor, and the libva version.

Sorry, I just noticed that bug buddy gives a report actually. Hope it helps.

We need at least the output of Gnash, a log file, or a backtrace to do anything about it. If bug-buddy doesn't give you one, try turning it off.

Hi,

I tried to experience the vaapi hw acceleration with gnash and I can't seem to get it to work without a crash.

Even though I set it to generate a log file, gnash crashes without creating it, so I could not find a way to submit a log file, sorry about that.

I set "set hwaccel vaapi" in the config file and as soon as gnash starts, I get a crash report from bug-buddy.

I use the xvba-video backend to vaapi if it matters.
