OK, no response from original poster, closing.   Will wait for the same problem to be re-reported, if it is still a problem.  Sigh.   Still, now that people have the option of indicating their email address in the bug report, even if they don't have a Savannah account, this sort of thing may happen less.

One other minor point - findutils-4.1.7 is now just over ten years old.  Could you test with a newer version of findutils please?   I would suggest either findutils-4.1.20 from ftp.gnu.org or findutils-4.2.4 from alpha.gnu.org.

Bug postponed, pending retesting with a newer version of findutils, or a stack backtrace, or indeed any form of response at all.

I don't have access to Solaris 9.   Please generate a stack backtrace from the relevant core file.  You will need to tell me precisely which version of findutils you are using so that I can look at the correct lines in the source code - there are several minor releases within findutils-4.1.  Also, please let me know your email address so that I can correspond with you about this problem.   Thanks.

locate 4.1 segfaults on Sun/Solaris (Solaris 9) with a large database file. locate works with a database file of 4MB, and we know it crashes with database file of 10MB.
