The app menu not coming up when the right button is clicked over a menu being edited in Gorm is correct behavior. The menu being edited is an actual menu object, so it accepts events in the same way. So the first part of this report is not a bug, but the second part where the menu item becomes selected and stays selected, is.

I have corrected the second issue, so it shouldn't happen anymore. This was a simple change, thanks for the report.

I was not aware of this. I have been able to recreate it. The menu item gets stuck in "selected" mode for some reason. The workaround to "unstick" it is to click on another window. GJC

If you right-click over the top of a menu that's being edited, the Gorm menu does not appear. Also the menu item the mouse was over becomes selected, and stays that way after the right mouse button is released. I've not found a way to deselct the menu item after this.
