Thales only crashes when using an ircd like bahamut 1.8.x series that doesn't have the backwards compatibility for NOQUIT.
In case of a server split, the server doesn't send anymore a quit for each user, you only receive a squi for the server, then you have to clean the cache/database.

Thales only crashes when the cache is activated.

Hi there,

I've managed to find a bug in Thales that I am able to re-create repeatedly.

Here's how I re-create the error (step by step):

1. I start up my hub server.
2. I link in my other servers (including services).
3. I join a random channel.
4. I link in Thales.
5. I use the /die command to shutdown the server that I am currently on.
6. I restart the server I just shutdown (it links to the hub automatically).
7. I reconnect to the server and join the channel I was previously on.

As soon as I join that same channel, Thales splits from the network with the
following error:

      • Global -- from thales.ethereal.web.za: FATAL ERROR! Query failed:

Duplicate entry '1-1' for key 1 (IRC context : :dragon.za.ethereal.web.za
SJOIN 1087979642 #ethereal + :@CuttingEdge)

Thales looks like it is not updating the user/channel information regarding
the server I just shutdown.

Here is the output of various shell commands as requested:

[excalibur@edge thales]$ gcc -v
Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/3.2/specs
Configured with: ../configure --prefix=/usr --mandir=/usr/share/man
--infodir=/usr/share/info --enable-shared --enable-threads=posix
--disable-checking --host=i386-redhat-linux --with-system-zlib
--enable-__cxa_atexit
Thread model: posix
gcc version 3.2 20020903 (Red Hat Linux 8.0 3.2-7)

[excalibur@edge thales]$ uname -a
Linux edge.ethereal.web.za 2.4.18-14 #1 Wed Sep 4 13:35:50 EDT 2002 i686
i686 i386 GNU/Linux

[excalibur@edge thales]$ mysql -V
mysql Ver 11.18 Distrib 3.23.52, for pc-linux-gnu (i686)

I've also attached a verbose log of Thales (thales.log)

Here's some other information regarding the IRC software I'm using:
IRCd: bahamut-1.8(01) (the latest IRCd from bahamut.dal.net)
Services: ircservices-5.0.32 (the latest from http://www.ircservices.za.net)

Please note that this was not a live network that I discovered the bug on
(perhaps a good thing). I have an entire test-network setup on my machine
at home to debug errors for the website I'm creating for our network.

Thanks again for your help.

Regards,
Wesley Channon (CuttingEdge on irc.ethereal.web.za)

PS: Thales is amazing! I'll have to show you sometime some of the ideas
I've come up with for our site. Thank you for creating such a useful
utility!

Note : still here in 1.0
