gnubg plays at a very high level, which can look like it's cheating.
Try changing the playing strength to a lower setting. Or try using manual dice for a while to convince your self that the dice are fair.

I have noticed that this program seams to cheat. If it offers to double the game and you accept, it will always get the needed dice roll to put you back to home. Sometimes it puts a chip back to home when it didn't even move on it.
