The test is not anymore present in grep git.

Thank you for the bug report. This bug has been fixed in the
development sources, which can be downloaded using git from
git://git.sv.gnu.org/grep.git

When trying to build the most recent tar ball (2.5) on Solaris sparc
2.9, I got this error when running the configure script:

checking How to create links... /stash/travissu/src/grep/configure:
test: argument expected

The error seems to be generated by this 8852 in configure.lineno:

if test -L test01; then

The work around that I found was to run configure like this:

bash configure --prefix=/foo

I wish I could tell you what version of sh I've got on this system, but I couldn't figure that out.
