Thanks, should be fixed in CVS. I've also added some sanity checks which might trip up some illdefined situations.

Validation of updates silently changes the content of any NSData attributes, whether they have been changed or not.

the problem is caused by the validation of attributes, which erroneously tries to convert attribute values to the adaptor value type. this coercion is not only unnecessary, but also breaks any attribute which stores as EOAdaptorBytesType
