You can download a release of findutils in which this problem is
fixed from ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/findutils.

The releases on alpha.gnu.org are for testing purposes, so please
take the time to download the release and verify that your
problem has been solved. Once the release has been sufficiently
tested, it can be uploaded to ftp.gnu.org for everybody to use it.

I think this is fixed in the CVS code now (not in findutils-4.2.0 though). Could you retest against the development code in CVS please?

On solaris 8 and solaris 2.5.1 the -iname switch and probably others do not ignore case as they should. In tracking it down I found that pred.c seems to be where the match is tried. It seems to use the function fnmatch t comapre the strings. A flag is send down with FNM_CASEFOLD bit set to ignore case. The problem is that generic solaris does not support that bit. It is only in the gnu tools. I found it in the binutils source tree but not in the installed tree. It is part of the libiberty set of functions.

This works in findutils-4.1 because a subset of functions i supplied in the lib directory. These as missing in 4.1.20

I am not sure of how to accomplish the fix. Adding back in the lib files would work. Knowing if libiberty should be installed as part of the binutils would be useful. Some users would not have some of this available however.
