I just tried again with 1.0.3-R2. It still crashes at
exactly the same point when configured with --enable-optimize
and even with --enable-optimize=no-inline, however it does
no longer crash with --disable-optimize. This is hence what
I will used for the moment for the debian package.

I will hence close this bug.

I just tried without the --enable-optimize option
(g++ 3.3.3) and got exactly the same crash.

Let me know when I can do anything to help you
track this thing down.

--enable-optimize forces all optimizations, including inlining Omitting this option will cause the configure to disable inlining when compiling with g++-3.

Please do not use this option, I just had a live report from a Debian user reporting the segfault :(

It seems the crash here was caused by a bug in my indentation patch, which is now fixed. No idea what is causing the crash at yours.

Yes, it is indeed 1.0.3 that crashes. If you want me to compile with other options or try something else just
tell me what to try.

(and thanks for the hint about --disable-guess-guile :-)

Exactly which version of texmacs are you using?
I am able to reproduce the problem here on my devo branch based on 1.0.3.2 (with many patches) but not on stock 1.0.3.

Also note that the --disable-guess-guile option is not needed. The patch implementing was not applied, instead the guile-guessing code was commented out.

I configure with the following options:

--enable-optimize
--prefix=/usr/
--libexecdir=/usr/lib/texmacs
--datadir=/usr/share/texmacs
--mandir=/usr/share/man
--enable-debug
--disable-guess-guile

As you guessed correctly (I forgot to mention in my bug
repor) I'am imdeed compiling with gcc-3.3

Just to be sure, did you compile with inlining disabled?

For some time I thought that g++ inlining bugs were fixed, but I recently found that compiling with inlining with g++-3.3 could still cause segfaults.
