A change to GSHTTPURLHandle's bgRead: method in CVS version 1.45 (commited thursday feb 5) breaks loadInForeground.

In bgdRead there is a an if statement that used to look like:
else if ([parser isComplete] == YES) //GSHTTPURLHandle.m:313 base v1.9.0

It now looks like:
else if ([parser isComplete] == YES || ([parser isInHeaders] == NO && [[[document headerNamed:@"content-length] value] intValue] >0))
//GSHTTPURLHandle:313/314 current CVS

This causes the HTTP Handle report that it's load is complete if it has completed loading the HTTP headers and the document has a nonnegative content length. The result seems to be that the handle loads the first packet of data from the socket then reports that the load is complete. This completely breaks loading large documents via http since only the first couple of k can fit in a single packet.
