You can download a release of findutils in which this problem is
fixed from ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/findutils.

The releases on alpha.gnu.org are for testing purposes, so please
take the time to download the release and verify that your
problem has been solved. Once the release has been sufficiently
tested, it can be uploaded to ftp.gnu.org for everybody to use it.

I think this is fixed in the CVS code now (not in findutils-4.2.0 though). Could you retest against the development code in CVS please?

I cannot reproduce this. Does this problem affect the fnmatch() function in your system's C library as well?

Hi,

Today I tried to use the find program to locate files with at least one uppercase letter. After typing: "find ~ -name '[A-Z]' -print" I noticed that not all files had uppercase letters.

However typing: "find ~ -name '[ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ]' -print" works as expected. It seems that anytime a "-" is used in a character class that the matching becomes case insensitive

I have find v4.1.7. which came with Mandrake v9.1. I also tried this with v4.1.20 and the problem is still there.
