Attached is a shells script that creates a bootfloppy which
fits to the running Linux instance, that is, creates an
entry that boot this Linux. Without this entry it's still
possible for an experienced user to boot Linux, but that's
not a solution for the beginners. This shell script is an
example where a separate grub-convert executable is very
useful.

"There is no benefit from it for us." - I hope that you
don't only develop grub for yourselves but for other users
too ;-)

There is no benefit from it for us. If you still want grub-convert, it would be the only way to contribute your scripts to us.

When creating front-ends for grub-install (e.g. scripts that
create a boot floppy, or a control center module for a
distribution...) I've found that the convert() shell
function of grub-install is very useful and might be required on its own. I'd highly recommend to split it out
from grub-install, and create a standalone grub-convert
utility from it.
