Closing bug report, played through movelist in xboard and WinBoard, in both cases the position at the end of wtf.pgn is not determined to be mate. This bug appears to apply to the GNUChess engine which is included in the distribution, not to the chess client.

This looks like a bug in GNUChess, not xboard. Playing through the movelist in xboard, a mate is not announced at 26. Qe4+

The computer claims mate when there is clearly a valid move. This has happened more than once.
