I have looked into this one a little more. I can't seem to work out why it works with one but not the other. Can I send you a patch for testing? I only have LANs with transparent proxies :(

This option must have been switched on, otherwise "comics" would not be able to fetch remote images (which it does in this setup).

Hmmmm ... iirc there is an option in admin->site config which allows you to set the proxy server. I will double check it, I use a transparent proxy, so will be a little more difficult to test.

Headlines does not use any http proxy settings. Therefore it cannot be used behind a firewall which blocks port 80 or does not do any routing nor NAT.
