Hello. The bytecode interpreter is very nice but it takes some 1 to 30 milliseconds extra for the first call of an Octave function (compilation time) compared to later calls (using already compiled function).

For Octave functions (functions in .m files used by Octave itself),  which will stay the same for an Octave version, is it possible to make all the compilation once instead of each time? That way, even the first run of an Octave function will be as fast as the others. Is there a way to save the bytecode for Octave functions as part of the Octave installation itself? Maybe like "libbytecode" just like "libgui".
