Please try compiling and running the latest version from the Subversion trunk. We’ve recently improved the error reporting for segmentation faults, which should help with diagnosing the issue.

Please include the traceback.

Please run etc/prereq and see if any prerequisites are missing.

Are you building in the source directory or in a separate directory.

Please build DDD again, capture the output from running configure and make, and upload these files.  (Either redirect output to a log file or run using script.)

So I just tried to run it doing ddd/ddd from the top level directory. And then it immediately caused a segfault and said congrats you found a bug, then how to report it. No program was being run just ddd to see if it would start.

Please provide a more complete description of the problem.  Describe exactly how you started DDD, the program you are debugging, what you did before the segfault, and anything else which can help identify the problem.

Include a traceback, if available.

I am running ddd version 3.4.1 on RHEL 8.10. I was able to compile the software but when I run it I receive a segfault. When running ld ddd it correctly finds all of the libraries needed so no issues there. Can someone explain why this would happen? It compiled and linked perfectly fine so Im not understanding why a segfault would occur. Thank you.
