Octave version 8.4 is deprecated and no longer supported.  Could you try with the latest stable version (9.2)?

I want to change the layout of octave GUI by clicking and dragging sub-window in the main window, but this fails on ubuntu 24.04. When clicking to undock a sub-windows the undocked window disconnect from the mouse pointer and it is not possible to drag it to a new place in the GUI. This happened after upgrading ubuntu from 22.04 to 24.04 (octave version is 8.4)

See this short video to understand what I mean :

is there a way to change window layout from the command line or somme configuration file ?
