Thanks, Robert. Already done in patch-3 in my lifeless-integration branch.

given that tla is flexible here, AND verbose: commit will spew a list of untagged source files on commit. I see no reason not to make the default less intrusive on folk. I'll merge this when there is a clean changeset against integration for it.

Personally, I think it's handy that the revision control system can provide that level of strictness, should you want it. But I think that if one really wants to handle the case of people forgetting to commit a file, the better way to do it is by using a precommit hook which actually tries building the software and running regression tests. That way, if there's a missing file, compilation will presumably fail. Or instead a precommit hook, you could use something like tla-pqm.

Sorry for the preceding anonymous comment, I forgot to
mention that "I" stands for "rfarine". But you could probably
have guessed ;).

I really think that it should remain "unrecognized". With
anything but unrecognized, if you forget to add a tag then
tree-lint will be silent and you'll end up comitting an
inconsistent changeset.

In general, the default should select the safest behavior,
not the apparently "friendly" one.

this also needs integration with the subdir regexp code.

Hi, I really think the default untagged-source behavior should be precious, not unrecognized. Precious more closely simulates CVS' default behavior here, and I think it makes more sense as a default, since it's what the vast majority of users (I assert) will expect.

This change is in both patch-42 and patch-44 in my archive; please apply both.
