I confirm this bug was occuring until a couple of months ago, but the latest SVN rev (14110) no longer has this bug. I don't know what fixed it, though.

I get the same error by simply typing "," immediately after an ellipsis (<ldots>) in math mode — not necessarily in subscript.

In a new TeXmacs document, hit the following keys successively:

$ (for math)
a
_ (subscript
.. (for ellipsis)
, (comma)

This consistently leads to a 'typesetting failure, resetting to empty' and 'segmentation fault' message (macOS, TeXmacs 2.1.1)
