"not using" should be "using"

I believe this is not frequently used by others. The reason to use a custom keyboard layout is to disable Alt+Latin shortcuts in Mac OS. I end up not using custom keyboard layout separately from Sogou, and it's ok for my workflow. You may close this bug.

I don't have a way to debug this.
Is this a very serious problem?

This is the first time that I hear about the Sogou IM with a custom MacOS keyboard layout.  Is this frequently used by others, or more of a personal thing?

It turns out the problem occurs if the layout is used in my custom input method: Sogou input method. If I use the layout as a standalone input method, then the problem is gone.

In fact, TeXmacs crashes if text is input in any diaglog. It turns out the problem is caused by a custom keyboard layout, which is attached for reference.

Now I found TeXmacs also crashes if I input a text character in the padding dialog of a table. So this issue may not be specific to gif only.

Maybe it's OS dependent? What OS are you in?

Ah, I see.

Still, I cannot reproduce a crash when inserting an animated gif with this method, whatever I type into the width input box (or any other input box) of the "enter data" widget.

However I get a benign (non-crash) error "Wrong type argument in position x" if I leave any of the input fields not edited (assuming a default value will be used). This is because the widget then returns the character_ #<eof> and not a string as expected.

To get animation, you do not insert through the image button, but the animation button.

When inserting animated Gif in Linux, TeXmacs does not crash (However, TeXmacs only displays the first frame. pdf export is static too -- I wasn't expecting differently, though latex seems able to produce pdfs with dynamic content).
AFAIK the image insertion dialog is different on MacOs, indicating that the bug you see seems in MacOs specific code for image insertion.

When inserting GIF animations, TeXmacs crashes as soon as there I type a non-number character in the width input field.
