This is identical to bug #62399.

I think it should be very easy for the genuine OCTAVE team to develop a line editor for the command window so that it become very similar to MATLAB's line editor.

- Escape should clear the entire line.
- Selection, copy, and paste should work properly (it is now malfunctioning).
- Replace mode does not work at all. 
  
- When "[A" or "[C" appears (for any reason, e.g. when Esc is used), it hangs, and does nothing.
