The compilation of the C++ files of the level-set package ignore the setting of the environment variable CPPFLAGS.

The patch attached to this bug report fixes the problem. It is being applied to the Debian package fim, such that hardening flags like -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 are used in the compilation. (See https://wiki.debian.org/Hardening)
