Corresponding source code
The "multiple views on one document" feature of TeXmacs has become unstable since a while (there can also be occasional segfaults due to the undo/redo mechanism), so we removed it from the official interface.
Until we have re-implemented this feature in a better way, you can still use it in the way you suggest, but "at your own risk". In particular, this bug will only be corrected when re-implementing this feature in a better way.
