Well, after removing my working tree, pulling a fresh copy, and rebuilding, I am now unable to replicate this.  Even with an unmodified pull of commit aaec5f.

I compared the source trees, and saw nothing that should have caused this bug.

It definitely was there, but it's gone now.

Just taking some notes, as I will look at this later.

Register J should not take a negative value.  That appears to be handled correctly.

The other short registers should take a negative value.  Trying to enter a negative will fail.  You will have a positive value no matter what.  I have confirmed this behavior is incorrect.

Behavior appears to be correct in 1.2.10+dfsg-2 (https://sources.debian.org/src/mdk/1.2.10+dfsg-2/)

Behavior is incorrect in 1.2.11 (most recent commit ending in aaec5f)

I'll compare the two source trees and the various patches that Debian applied and see if I can narrow it down.

All registers but A and X loses the signal value when the edit field shows up.

By instance: if I1 has the value - 31 17 then the Enter Value field shows like + 31 17
