The fact that the GUI is not at all scalable (and actually is made out of fairly small images) causes problems on high-resolution displays and low-resolution eyeballs.

Once upon a time IIRC there was actually a curses interface which didn't have this problem, because the users could just configure the font-size used by their terminals....

Could convert all of the current pixel-based imagery to SVG and make scale "infinitely variable" that way, or just add the ability to use some sort of pixel-multiplier factor. "infinitely variable scale" would be preferable, but even just supporting pixel-multipliers would be a lot better than what we have now.
