No problem.  I appreciate you telling us that there isn't, after all, a problem, since now it will no longer weigh on my mind.

Actually nothing fails. I am sorry for the noise.

Well, most obviously, which specific test fails?

How exactly did you invoke "configure"?   What is the content of config.log?  What is the complete output of "make check"?   What is the content of the log file generated by the test that fails?  (example: gnulib's test-close test generates the log file gnulib-tests/test-close.log).

On the system I am using here, if I rename /usr/bin/gpg to /usr/bin/gpg2 then "make check" still succeeds.   In other words, so far I am not able to reproduce your problem.

Yes, it's exactly 'make check' what fails for me, sorry for not saying it before.

What is the information you need?

If "make check" doesn't fail for you, what, precisely, is the problem?

gnupload is for the maintainers of the findutils, and we happen
to have it used for the first time just yesterday.
So TBH I don't understand why one would like to run it on a system
which doesn't have 'gpg' set fine.

But the main reason this patch can't be accepted is that the file
comes from gnulib, i.e., in a fresh clone it does not exist:

$ GIT_PAGER= git grep gnupload
bootstrap.conf:    gnupload

As such, I'm closing this bug here as 'invalid', but as that file
is shared from gnulib among many projects, you might try again
on the gnulib mailing list.

On OpenIndiana 2019.04 (an illumos distribution) we deliver GPG2 as /usr/bin/gpg2. We don't provide /usr/bin/gpg of any GPG version.

As it is in findutils-4.7.0/build-aux/gnupload one of the tests running GPG fails for us.

I attach a patch which lets the build system set the correct GPG binary. Then the GPG test failure is gone.
