"Does Denemo automatically open the last active file? " YES

"6. Denemo reopens, File opens, but title bar is still /users/...RICERCAR VIII (2.14.19). See attachment."

You wrote "File opens" but which file? The answer is not the one you clicked on. So this is a bug in the file association mechanism on the Mac. The "file association mechanism" is what the operating system does when you click on a file. The O/S chooses an executable to run and by default it usually passes the file name to the executable. For some reason, your setup does not do that, so Denemo doesn't get passed the filename and resorts to opening the last opened file.
If any Mac people are listening perhaps they would advise how to set up file association on Mac...
Workaround is not to click on Denemo files, but to click on the executable itself.

Hi Richard

Sorry, I use Denemo 2.2.0

OK, I got it to work properly, but I have a question.  Does Denemo automatically open the last active file?

The original problem i have is still here. FYI, here is what I did:

To duplicate my original problem:
1.  Opened file "RICERCAR VIII (2.14.19).denemo" from folder on desktop by clicking on the file name.  Denemo was not, at this point, already running.

2.  Copied and renamed file by File--Save--Create copy.  I renamed it "WXYZ"

3.  File called "WXYZ" appeared in folder on desktop.

4. I then quit Denemo.

5.  Opened file "WXYZ" by clicking on file name.

6.  Denemo reopens, File opens, but title bar is still /users/...RICERCAR VIII (2.14.19).  See attachment.

>>>Now here is where I fixed it>>>

7. I quit Denemo, and reopened the program by clicking on the application.  File "/users/...RICERCAR VIII (2.14.19)" opened automatically.  I then went to file---open---WXYZ.

This time, WXYZ DID open!

So, i guess there isnt a problem, but I'm curious if there is something in Denemo that automatically opens the last active file?

Is this still a bug?  Or am I just going about things the wrong way?

thanks for your trouble, and I have to say, I enjoy using Denemo very much...

cheers

"FYI, I use OSX El Capitan. " Denemo version?

"I duplicated a file and renamed the copy."

I can't tell what you have done from this (did you used File->Save->SaveAs or File->Save->Create Copy or did you use your operating system to make a copy of the file under a different name or ...

"When I open the copy, the title at the top of the Denemo window still shows the old file path..."

How could it do that (where would it get the information from? Unless you mean that you had a Denemo session going which had previously dealt with the old file name and then opened a new file... You will have to give an exact sequence of commands to reproduce this bug.

"I changed the text to the tagline (saving the file again, of course). When I printed the PDF of the renamed copy, the tagline shows the corrected name."
This is a different topic - if you have not set a tagline in a Denemo score then every time you open it it sets the tagline to the filename and current date. If you have set it, then it stays as what you have set, even if you change the file name which you are storing it in.

Hello Richard, et al,

FYI,  I use OSX El Capitan.

I duplicated a file and renamed the copy.  When I open the copy, the title at the top of the Denemo window still shows the old file path & title (the text that shows up in the tagline when a PDF is created).

I changed the text to the tagline (saving the file again, of course).  When I printed the PDF of the renamed copy, the tagline shows the corrected name.  However, when I open the Denemo file, the title at the top of the window still shows the name & filepath of the original file.

I am attaching both files.

I'm sorry, I do not know how to check if this item has already been addressed.

As you can imagine, this is really confusing because I cannot tell which copy of the score I am working from by looking at the titlebar!

Would you please reply when you get a chance?  email me at :

THanks!
