To reproduce, run 'nano --ignore -K --mouse NEWS'.  Then click the mouse on a few places in the terminal window.  Instead of placing the cursor at the clicked position, this enters things like " H'#H'" and other unwanted groups of characters.

I think, when -K is used, this should override and disable --mouse.  (Of course, the documentation should mention this too.)
