Confirmed. Thanks for catching that, I'm sure it has been there a while. I made a clarification in the language here (http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/6e1d3ad32ed1). The change was made on the stable branch and will be a part of the 4.2.2 bug fix release.

Marking as fixed and closing report.

p.s. There is no "Any" because a bug doesn't, in fact, apply to all releases. It might apply to release 3.8.0, or it might apply to several releases such as 3.8.0, 4.0.3, 4.2.1. We tag the bug wit the release it applies to, or to the first release where it was found.

The documentation says

The second and third arguments specify the initial state of the
system, x_0, and the initial value of the independent variable
t_0.

I believe that the last part ("and the initial value...") should be
something like

and a vector, t, specifying the values of the independent
variable at which the solution is sought.

PS: in order to submit a bug, one needs to specify the release. Shouldn't the choice 'Any' be possible? (like for the operating system)
